Grecian Wars – 2016

The Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Marathon are historic examples of the power of patriotic people defending their native soil.

Recently, all three sixth grade classes got the chance to re-enact both battles in the 13th Annual Grecian Wars held here on campus. Two weeks prior, students volunteered during their class breaks to fill 70 coolers with over 15,000 water balloons in order to prepare for the event. On Thursday April 14th, 76  sixth graders, teachers, chapel speakers and even parents were divided into three different countries: Athens and Sparta versus Persia. Those who participated engaged in a massive water balloon war that lasted over 2 hours!
